Why is this home Made of styrofoam? Hold the phone It’s also styrofoam
2.
Smallest while Sticking out Face drops down Confettiless clown Why in the world Would one ever be bored? Would one cease to ask? Would one dismiss the past? Keeping it going For the sake of knowing Knowing even when There’s no thing
3.
Why was the room left empty? Why feel so complete? I read the bible of that’s that The holy land squeezed in a vat Have been through a piece of the world But less of the mind Curious the routine, curious industry Curious, curiosity Always learning but in the same binder Flip through the pages, the loops of reminder When things get old The sweetness told in the folds of dried pineapple
4.
When my hands become Too tired to play another chord When the guitars are packed up and brought to the morgue When all that’s left to do is watch the birds How many geese will be left in the flock? Sounds of airplanes and gunshots pow pow pow What a glimpse of what to lose Ants were once like craters on the moon
5.
Just pick one already *ha ha You’re letting all the cold air out Just pick one already *pick one already It’s hard for me to see *just pick one already It’s fogging all up *just pick one already Just pick one already *just pick one already Need my three pints Just pick one already Standing here all night
6.
Blame it on the stars Being uninvolved Seeking monuments for what it meant Can’t repent that’s just how it went Soothing to keep moving But nothing stops looming Digging up the locomotive Privacy of nose picking in a car We’re bugs in a jar

Just for once it’s okay To play satisfying chords They move in good time Resolutions seem so sad Open seems for more is had Just for once the flaws are in a knot Just for once it’s okay To play satisfying chords To repeat and ask no more To repeat and have it end
9.
I got a succulent today Left it outside to get some sun I gave it water and some love When I came back it came to wilt It perked up from inside my room The less I did, the more it grew Why did it wilt from tenderness? What if that succulent was me?
10.
Born into the stratosphere I picked myself up by my bootstraps You ever hear of hard work? I’m a self-made man I’m a self-made man What do you mean, there’s no ethical consumption under late capitalism? What do you mean, family wealth is the biggest predictor of success in the united states? What are you talking about, we live in a meritocracy No, no, no I did it, it was me, it always me I’m a good entrepreneur I earned this, now go earn yours I’m a self-made man I’m a self-made man I’m a self-made man

I fell asleep My room was peace I went to work Walked up stairs and had a conversation Slept like a dream last night, baby Overcharged the battery again Zoom meeting Go for a run Exhausted Or so I thought I’m stuck in quarantine And I can’t sleep tonight Zoom meeting Go for a run Exhausted Or so I thought I’m stuck in quarantine And I can’t sleep tonight I haven’t left my room And now my eyes won’t shut (repeats) Stayed out too late Shooting the breeze Wanted to leave Just kidding, can you imagine that? This sucks Slept like a dream a year ago Overcharged the battery again (sax solo: Drew Vandewinckel) I’m stuck in quarantine And I can’t sleep tonight I haven’t left my room And now my eyes won’t shut (repeats)

Geology undergirds me I’m a rock So long ago crystals were formed, like DNA Set in stone Immobile Unchanging No feeling Even if I don’t want to be firm Motionless Solid rock Even if I don’t want to be I wish I could recrystallize Grow anew Told a boulder what to do, and I hurt you Slab for brains Immobile Unchanging No feeling Even if I don’t want to be firm Motionless Solid rock Even if I don’t want to be
13.
Drawing on the wall Obviously wrong Did it anyway I apologize Go clean up my mess But there is a stain that won’t ever come out I said that I was still learning My foot in my mouth Saying something dumb Miscommunicate I apologize You accept it as Miscommunication, but it hurts I’m still learning that words can’t be wiped off the walls
